Purchased back in the day (and still own) the original LP. Sonic differences - the distorted guitars (which I love) have been tamed without losing their driving sense of rock & roll urgency and energy. Strings and vocal harmonies more prominent. On "Overnight Sensation" the swirling organ and sax have been brought forward as has the oft-repeated "big hit record" and "number one" lyrics. Packaging differences: MFSL version is a gatefold - original is not. Original had liner notes all over the inner paper sleeve - those have been faithfully reproduced inside the gatefold. Nice MFSL archival "rice paper" inner sleeve. Printed lyrics are gone. Lead-in groove of side 1 is very quiet, side 2's less so. Side 2's label had a 1/2" tear radiating from the spindle hole. Overall the vinyl is very quiet except in the few soft passages (but that's vinyl for you.) No major ticks or pops. No skips. Cool red vinyl with black streaks. HIGHLY recommended! VERY happy with it! Great job MFSL!
