The "hybrid" model has been perfect for my non-weight bearing needs. The larger front wheels allow it to traverse hardwoods, low to medium pile carpet, area rugs - all with ease. Additionally, on sidewalks and paved drives, this is sturdy and able to cover ground. Having the smaller back wheels helps prevent the dreaded "running over your foot" that I have heard others complain of. - Assembly was performed by my husband who *gasp*, looked at the directions, and found them clear - Make sure that you have a tire pump for the front tires - they came relatively deflated and needed to be inflated to 35 PSI.Steering is more nimble than I expected however the turning radius is by no means tight (I get it, prevents tipping). It is still easy to maneuver and light enough that you can pivot with it to reposition if needed. The steering mechanism was a bit tight at first however this has significantly improved. The brake locks for safety and both the knee pad and handle bars are adjustable to maintain the best possible postural mechanics. I have found the knee pad more than sufficient and the basket extremely helpful. For transport, it does not fold however it fits in the back of our SUV (X7). You can lower the handlebars to improve clearance.Overall I am extremely happy with this model (after way too much time spent considering the many options!) and will keep this long term for potential future needs.
