Description
Repressing. UK compilation that actually covers the entire career and most of the recordings of this mid 80s indie act, formed in Dorset in 1984 and signed to Bristol's Subway Organization label. Includes their highly rated indie chart hit 'Ask Johnny Dee' as well as material from all three albums 'Kettle' 'Westward Ho' and 'Crocodile Tears', as well as a previously unreleased version of 'Glad for You' featuring what appears to be the West Country rock mafia: PJ Harvey's Rob Ellis, Portishead's Clare McTaggart and the Loft's Andy Strickland. Cherry Red.

Like, OMG! Why had I never heard of this band before?! If you're a fan of C-86 bands, Brit Indiepop or twee in general, you will LOVE this. Just perfect boy pop songs with nice variations on catchy jangle, eighties style (but without those dated angular rhythms). Think Shop Assistants (who they shared a split debut flexi with), Talulah Gosh, maybe a little Razorcuts. A touch of Orange Juice, etc. They were a Subway band (Flatmates!). This CD compiles tracks from their various singles, Eps and albums. I'm too lazy to go on. If you like all or most of the bands I mentioned, you will dig this for sure.
