I’m a 70 year old woman that trims her donkeys hooves herself as I’ve been unable to find a farrier willing to trim donkey hooves. I don’t have the hand strength to use the nippers except for small pieces of hoof or hard summer frog on occasion.I have two donkeys and take turns filing their hooves every other week. These files, have been a game changer. I use both the aggressive and fine blades and changed my blades after a year but could probably use them still in the wet part of the year when their hooves are softer and easier to trim.A gal that trims pig hooves all over the country told me about this because she saw a client use one. She uses nippers and a dremel for pig hooves (no drugs, only flipping pigs kept off any kind of feed for at least 3 hours beforehand) but she occasionally works on an equine here and there.
